On Sunday, May 13th, 2018 we will be dedicating babies and young kids 2 years old and younger who have never been dedicated before. A baby dedication is specifically a challenge to parents to raise their kids to love Jesus, love people, and make a difference. It will be a special time for our church family.

At Next Level Church one of our core values is Disciples Disciple. A disciple is simply a learner. Jesus’ last command was to make disciples.  There is no higher calling than to disciple your children.

What Baby Dedication is NOT:

1. Baby Dedication is not baptism. We believe that baptism is a symbol of an individual’s choice to respond to God and place their faith in Him. And even though our little ones are bright, we also know they aren’t at that place yet.

2. Baby Dedication doesn’t save. It doesn’t guarantee heaven or even make your child more likely to be a Christian.

3. Baby Dedication isn’t about the child, but about the parents.

What Baby Dedication is:

1. Baby dedication is a promise. Just like a wedding is about the promise, so is baby dedication. Before a wedding a man and women decide that they want to love and care for each other for the rest of their lives. Then to mark or seal that choice, they come together in front of friends and family and make a promise before God to seek His help to live out that promise. Baby Dedication is the same. Before God, parents are making a promise before God to seek His help to raise their child/ren. Here is what you need to know about a promise:

2. Baby Dedication is an act of faith. God is a God that keeps his promise. He wants us to keep our promises too. The only way we are going to come close to keeping our promise is by God’s power, and by leaning on the strength of others with similar faith, within God’s community. Just like a wedding is not about whether you love each other, but about will you keep your promise to God and each other to continue to love each other. Baby dedication is the faith put into action and the acknowledgement that we need God’s help and guidance.
