Approximately 3.3 million New Yorkers experience difficulty affording food for themselves and their families, an increase of 60 percent since 2003.

NLC has the opportunity to visit NYC and partner with NYSUM, New York School of Urban Ministry.  During our 4 days we will be helping with their event, Operation Drumstick.   We will be involved with feeding Thanksgiving meals to 5,000 needy people throughout New York City. These hurting people will receive a good old-fashioned Thanksgiving Dinner with all the trimmings: roasted turkey, corn bread stuffing, vegetables, cranberry sauce, and dessert. In addition, your team will experience two nights of ministering to the homeless on the streets of New York City.

If you are interested in this trip, please click here and fill out the application. The deadline for applying for this trip is October 9th.

Once your application is submitted, you will be notified of the upcoming meeting containing details about the trip.

Each team member will need to raise their own funds, as the cost of the trip will be 0.  Students are encouraged to go on this trip, and middle schoolers are welcome as well, as long as an adult accompanies them.

We will be leaving on November 11th and returning on November 14th.

Don’t miss this awesome opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate, during this holiday season.
