What is Level Up?

Level Up is an opportunity for our church to invest in the lives and eternities of our friends, families and community. Our expanded facility will make room for people who don’t know Jesus yet and make room for God to transform the lives of even more people in the 757 and to the ends of the earth.

Why now?

God is doing amazing things through Next Level and continues to expand our reach and influence in the community. However, we’ve grown and are at capacity in our existing auditorium and in our Kids and Tots spaces. Our current building is also wearing out. It is an old building that needs renovations and updates. This project will position us to comfortably receive the people that God is bringing to us.

Was this the original plan?

Our original plan was to build a brand new facility that would include an auditorium, a lobby, meeting spaces, Kids and Students spaces, and offices. We had to adjust this original plan to instead be an addition and renovation of our existing building.

Why the change and what will be included in this new plan?

This new plan includes building an addition to our current facility, renovating our existing space, and all site work including paved parking. For more info on why we made this shift and what it will include, check out the video below from our Lead Pastor.

What are the current next steps for the addition and renovation?

We are in the design process right now. This includes everything: the site plan, the size and layout of the building, electrical, HVAC, etc. Once the design phase is complete, we submit everything to York County for permits and approval. Once we have those, we secure financing if needed and then we can set a groundbreaking date. As those things come up, we will share them with our church.

What is the timeline for starting, and then completing, the addition and renovation?

We don’t have a timeline or specific dates. We are working hard to make this a reality as soon as possible but there are no set dates. As we move through this process, more specific dates and timelines will become known and we will share them with you.

What is the estimated cost for the addition and renovations to the property? What is the difference in cost between the original project and the newly planned project?

Our budget for this is $1.5 – $1.7 million, which is also what our budget was for the original plan. Additional phases may be needed as we continue to grow but at this moment, it’s too early to say what those phases would be and what they would cost.

Will there be a time period when we cannot meet in our existing building because of construction work?

It’s too early to know for sure but there may be a time where we can’t meet in our building during construction. If there is a time we can’t meet in our building, we will explore all of the options. Some would include being online only, renting space, or sharing with another church. Length of time we’d be out of our building and potential cost to rent would be some of the factors we’d use to make that decision.

How much will this cost?

Our budget for this project is $1.5 – $1.7 million

How are we paying for this project?

We started a journey in September 2018 to raise the funds for this project. Many pledged to sacrificially give and faithfully continue to honor that commitment. We’ve saved the money that has come in and will use that to pay for this project.

Will we go into debt to complete Level Up?

Debt is a tool when used wisely. Our preference is to avoid all debt but if we need to go into some debt to complete our project, we will consider it. We will do our absolute best to make the wise decision for Next Level. We’ll consider rates, amount we are going into debt for, what we gain by going into debt, what we will miss out on by not going into debt, and how the debt might affect Next Level in the future. If we do go into debt, we will do our absolute best to pay it off as quickly as possible.

What is our desired timeline for breaking ground?

We’d love to break ground tomorrow but even if we had the money to build, we are at least a year away from breaking ground due to design and permitting.

How much should I give?

That’s between you and God. Everyone’s gift will be different. It’s not about equal gifts; it’s about equal sacrifice. The size of the gift will be different, but the size of the sacrifice should be the same. Seek God and His heart for how He’s asking you to specifically partner with us on this journey. Listen to what He is saying to you about whatever step He would have you personally take in your relationship with Him. Obey Him in faith and do what He has put on your heart to do.

Should I direct my regular giving to Level Up?

No, your gift should be above and beyond your regular giving. Take time to prayerfully consider what gift God is asking you to give.

How will the money be used?

The money raised will be used to design, build, and furnish the building detailed in Level Up.

How can I give?

You may give to Level Up through any of the following methods: Online at nextlevelchurch.net/give, or with cash or check at one of our services. Be sure to select Level Up as the fund.

Is there a way for me to give non-cash gifts?

Yes, we are more than willing to accept gifts of stocks, investments, personal property and more.

Where can I get more info about this project?

We will be providing quarterly updates to the congregation and you can visit our website at nextlevelchurch.net/levelup
